Data Security & Retention
This Data Security & Retention page explains how security, support records, local files, retention, deletion requests, and incident routing are handled at a public-policy level.
Page sections
Security posture
OptionForge uses reasonable safeguards for the website, support, static hosting, legal pages, and software distribution workflow. Security depends partly on user devices, Microsoft Store infrastructure, email providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, and user configuration.
Local data and user control
The desktop app may store projects, settings, logs, exports, or strategy inputs locally on the user’s device. Users are responsible for backups, device security, encryption settings, malware protection, and deleting local data they no longer need.
Support-data handling
- Support materials should be limited to what is necessary to understand the request.
- Screenshots and logs should be redacted before sending where they include secrets, account numbers, credentials, or unrelated personal information.
- Support records may be retained for troubleshooting, quality, legal defense, audit, and security purposes.
Retention and deletion requests
Users may request deletion of personal support records by contacting [email protected]. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, dispute, tax, platform, or compliance reasons. Local files on the user’s device must be deleted by the user.
Incident routing
Suspected vulnerabilities or security incidents should be sent to [email protected] with “Security” in the subject. Avoid public disclosure before the issue is reviewed.
