Privacy summary
This Privacy Policy explains how OptionForge handles information through the public website, support contact, security contact, Microsoft Store access path, and desktop application context. It is designed to be a public privacy URL for Store submission and user review.
OptionForge does not need or collect payment-card numbers for the current free app release. Microsoft Store account/platform information is handled by Microsoft under its own user-facing terms and privacy documentation. Separate broker/data-provider payment information, if any, remains with that third party.
Information we may collect
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Website and device information | IP address, browser type, user agent, pages visited, referral page, timestamps, coarse region, security logs, cookie or analytics identifiers where enabled. | Automatically from the website and hosting/security tooling. |
| Support information | Name or email address, app version, Windows version, screenshots, logs, crash details, Store reference, issue description, attachments voluntarily sent to support. | Provided by the user or generated during support. |
| Desktop app information | Local settings, project files, imported/exported data, strategy inputs, watchlists, API/provider configuration, diagnostic logs, and optional crash details depending on app settings. | Created locally in the desktop app or sent only when the user chooses to share it for support. |
| Microsoft Store/platform context | Store listing, installation/update status, package identity, region, and platform-access context where available. | Microsoft Store/Windows platform services; the current OptionForge release itself is free. |
| Security and abuse signals | Rate limits, blocked requests, suspicious traffic metadata, security events, and contact records tied to abuse handling. | Hosting, website, email, and security systems. |
Information we do not intentionally collect through the website
- Full payment-card numbers or third-party billing credentials.
- Broker login credentials, brokerage account passwords, or trade-execution permissions.
- Government ID documents unless a separate enterprise/legal process expressly requires them.
- Precise location tracking, microphone recordings, camera recordings, biometric identifiers, or unrelated sensitive personal data through the public website.
- Children’s personal information knowingly or intentionally for marketing purposes.
How information is used
- Provide the website, documentation, policy pages, product information, and Microsoft Store redirection.
- Respond to support, security, privacy, licensing, refund-routing, and account-path questions.
- Diagnose bugs, performance issues, installation problems, and compatibility problems.
- Protect the website, users, app, intellectual property, and support systems from misuse, fraud, abuse, malware, or unauthorized access.
- Improve product documentation, user onboarding, support quality, and feature reliability.
- Comply with legal, tax, platform, security, and regulatory obligations where applicable.
Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies
The website uses essential storage for site delivery, security, performance, consent preference, and service-worker behavior. Optional Google Tag Manager analytics is not requested until the visitor selects Allow analytics; advertising storage and personalization remain disabled.
Visitors can choose Essential only or Allow analytics in the website consent panel and can clear the saved choice in browser storage. Blocking essential storage may affect caching or consent persistence.
Legal bases and consent
Where privacy laws require a lawful basis, processing may rely on contract performance, user consent, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, or another basis permitted by applicable law.
Users may withdraw optional consent where the processing depends on consent, but withdrawal may not affect processing already performed or processing needed for legal, security, support, or contract reasons.
Sharing and processors
OptionForge may share information with service providers or processors used for website hosting, email, analytics, security, support, software distribution, Microsoft Store access, diagnostics, or legal/compliance operations. These parties should process information only for the relevant service purpose.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, to complete a business transfer, or with user consent.
Retention
| Record type | Typical retention approach |
|---|---|
| Support tickets and emails | Retained as long as reasonably needed for support history, legal defense, security, quality improvement, and account/path verification. |
| Security logs | Retained for a limited security period unless an incident, abuse investigation, legal obligation, or audit requires longer retention. |
| Analytics records | Retained according to the analytics provider configuration and internal reporting needs. |
| Local app project files | Stored on the user’s device unless the user exports or sends them. Users control local deletion and backup. |
| Legal/compliance records | Retained as long as needed to satisfy legal, accounting, platform, or dispute-resolution obligations. |
Security
OptionForge uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No website, email system, local device, or internet transmission is guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
Users should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in support emails and should redact brokerage account numbers, credentials, private keys, API secrets, and unrelated personal information before sharing screenshots or logs.
User rights and choices
- Request access to personal information reasonably associated with the user.
- Request correction or deletion where required by applicable law and technically feasible.
- Object to or restrict certain processing where applicable law provides that right.
- Opt out of non-essential cookies or analytics using browser and device controls where available.
- Contact [email protected] for privacy questions, deletion requests, access requests, security questions, or correction requests.
International transfers
Website hosting, email, analytics, Microsoft Store services, and support systems may process information in jurisdictions outside the user’s province, state, or country. Privacy protections may differ by location.
Minors
OptionForge is not directed to children. If a parent or guardian believes a minor provided personal information through the website or support channel without appropriate permission, contact [email protected] so the request can be reviewed.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the website, app, Store path, analytics configuration, legal obligations, or support process changes. Material updates should be published with a revised last-updated date.
Privacy contact
Privacy requests can be sent to [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject line. Include the email address used for support communication and enough context to locate the relevant record.
